AUDIENCE ALLIANCE POLL
From its inception Audience Alliance has been committed to the idea of delivering film and media content consistent with traditional values and with the wishes of the mainstream audience. We have tested various methods of measuring, assessing and reporting audience feedback. As intended, such feedback has influenced our production and investment decisions. We have often quoted a Time Newspoll from 2006 that said 70% of Americans think Hollywood is out of touch with their values. We have also extrapolated that poll’s result to limited research in other countries concluding that there is some level of consistency internationally. We have now decided to take the next step in that process, to make no further assumptions based on third party research, rather to measure community values directly.
We have teamed with renowned pollster, Dr. Gary C. Lawrence, to develop the Audience Alliance Poll. Polls will initially be conducted about six times per year commencing in the USA and progressively extending to other countries where Audience Alliance is represented. Polls will use the highest standards for sample reliability and interpretation. They will focus on community values and expectations for their media experiences. As well as informing our internal decision making processes the Audience Alliance Poll will be published here, and disseminated widely to journalists and media outlets.
Current poll results available here.
